JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Clinic Administrator, the Ambulatory Support Specialist performs varied clerical and typing duties for physicians and management staff.  Analyzes eligibility media, utilizing various system applications for reporting purposes.  Interprets multiple medical plan benefits to maximize accurate collections. 

  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

(A = basics; B = preferred)

 

Education

A. High School diploma or GED.

B.  Associate or Bachelor’s degree

 

Experience

A.  1 to 2 years direct face to face customer service experience, or secretarial experience.

     2 to 3 yrs. medical insurance verification experience. CPT/ICD coding, Medical terminology. OR 2 yrs. previous KSC experience with 2 to 3 yrs. medical insurance verification experience. CPT/ICD coding, Medical terminology.

 

Special Skills

A. Typing skills 40 WPM with 10 or fewer errors.

    Basic math ability.

    Alpha/Numeric Forms Entry.

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    PC experience.

B.  Typing skills 55 WPM with 5 or fewer errors.

     10 key by touch.

 

 Other

A. Successful completion of the EPIC PM Front Desk Class and Hospital Charge Capture
