JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

 

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

(A = basics; B = preferred)

  

Education

A.

Graduate from an approved RN nursing program

B.

Bachelors Degree in nursing

Experience

A.

3-5 years RN experience . 1 year of Hematology   / Oncology experience and/or related.

B.

Two years of ambulatory care

1 year recent Oncology/Hematology experience.

Licenses

A.

Valid and current Texas RN license

BLS

Completion annually of 10 CEU’s related to   Oncology, OCN certification within 12 months of employment.

B.

OCN Certification

ACLS

Special Skills

A.

Able to use equipment and related supplies for   selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and   intravenous therapy.

Basic Computer skills
