Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the Patient Account Analyst is primarily responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. Responsible for maintaining the enrollment integrity of the Practice Management Systems. Analyzes eligibility media, utilizing various system applications for reporting purposes. Interprets multiple medical plan benefits to maximize accurate collections. Also responsible for communicating with the clinic and/or patient, any information that will be needed prior to or during the patients visit.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(A = basics; B = preferred)
A. High school diploma or equivalent.
B. Knowledge of insurance concepts and theory.
A. One year in similar field involving insurance verification, 3rd party payors, patient accounts or business office functions or 6 months similar experience with an Associate or higher degree or completion of Medical Billing & Coding Class or 6 months similar experience with KSC background.
B. Two years experience in business office environment handling insurance verification with knowledge of wide range of products. Kelsey-Seybold experience.
A. Windows XP, Computer skills, Internet. Must demonstrate fast and accurate computer skills.
B. Epic Experience
A. Basic PC literacy. Alpha/Num Forms Entry. Good writing skills. Basic knowledge of health insurance.
B. High PC proficiency. Excellent communication skills.
