    JOB SUMMARY

    The LVN Spine & Pain provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse Supervisor, or Licensed Vocational Nurse Coordinator, by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The Spine & Pain works with assigned physicians is a spine and pain care setting at a Kelsey-Seybold location as needed. The LVN Spine & Pain reports directly to their assigned physician for clinical activities and to the Nursing Supervisor for administrative activities.

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    (A = basics; B = preferred)

     

    Education

    A.

    Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program.

    B.

     

    Experience

    A.

    2 years of experience providing spine, bone or pain management support

     

    B.

    Experience with the use and management of opioids and narcotics.

     

    Licenses

    A.

    Current and valid Texas LVN license

     

    B.

     

    Special   Skills

    A.

    Basic knowledge of pain management protocols and physician office documentation standards

    Strong Typing skills and working knowledge of computer systems, particularly with a windows-based environment.​
