JOB SUMMARY
This position will assist the surgeon during reconstructive plastic and cosmetic surgical procedures. Assist the surgeon by anticipating the needs during surgical procedures and maintaining strict surgical conscience and sterile techniques throughout the procedure. Assists in patient positioning and transfer as needed. Adheres to universal precautions at all times. Performs the “Clinical Application Tasks” of the “First Assistant” role as evidenced by: Prepared to anticipate the moves of the surgeon. Performs specific portions of the operative procedure delineated and under the direction by the attending surgeon. Assist while in surgery by retracting, suturing, tie and clamping. Provide suction, exposure and hemostasis. Apply dressings, splints or cast and procures safe transport of the patient to the post anesthesia care unit at end of case. Assists the surgeon with minor surgical procedures in the office setting.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience | A. | 2 years CST experience. 1 year First Assist experience Experience in assisting in microsurgical techniques | 2 years of experience preferably in Plastic Surgery and/or Ambulatory Surgery. | |
