    JOB SUMMARY

    The Wellness vocational nurse provides direct nursing services at employer locations participating in worksite wellness programs. The Wellness LVN provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse Supervisor, or Licensed Vocational Nurse Coordinator, by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The position requires that nurse travel (within driving distance from Houston and overnight within the State of Texas) for wellness events as well as to all clinics within the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic system. The position allows for a minimum of 10 shifts scheduled per month to include weekend, early morning and evening shifts as required.

     

     EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Education

    Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program.

    Experience

    A.

    6 months in a clinical area. May consider a new grad if hiring department can provide direct supervision for 6 months, and space is available in new grad preceptoring program. Experience in drawing blood for laboratory studies.

    Licenses

    Current and valid Texas LVN license

    Special Skills

    A.

    Those hired into this position must complete the review/skill validation program within 90 days of hire.

    Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population.  Computer experience.
