    DEPARTMENT PROFILE

    Th​e Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center offers leading edge technology and is a nationally accredited center. The Cancer Center is home to state-of-the-art diagnostics such as PET, CT, MRI, genetic testing and stereotactic breast biopsy.​​ The Cancer Center provides highly personalized cancer treatment in a comfortable, outpatient setting with free parking for patients as well as staff.

     

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    Plan, organize and oversee the operations of treatment units for Radiation Therapy. Maintain technical expertise to evaluate and instruct in the applicable modality. Ensure proper standards are maintained and related to the delivery of radiation treatments, patient wait times, and proper follow up. Run stats/reports when requested by manager and or director. Provide leadership to the Radiation Therapist to ensure patient safety, quality assurance, and adhere to financial goals or the organization.

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

     

    (A = basics; B = preferred)

    Education

    A.

    High school graduate,

    Graduated from accredited Radiation Therapy Program

    BS or AA degree

    B.

     

    Experience

    A.

    Minimum of 5 years performing as Radiation Therapist;

    Minimum of 2 years of experience using

    True beam Linear Accelerator

    1-2 years of lead/Manager therapist experience

    Experience and full knowledge of Aria and all treatment modalities

     

    B.

     

    Licenses

    A.

    Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology Technologist

    Licensed by the Department of Health as medical Radiological Technologist

    CPR Certified

    B.

     

    Special Skills

    A.

    Clinical judgement and knowledge of radiation therapy, practices and safety

    Must maintain and complete continuing education in applicable areas to ensure competency is maintained

    B.

     

    Other

    A.

    Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

    Basic computer skills in Microsoft word, excel, and outlook email

    Flexibility of Work Schedule required

    Ability to multi-task as a clinical leader and working therapist (50% staffing/50% Management)
